Preventive dentistry is the first line of defense against dental disease. Fluoride treatment to prevent cavities is essential to dental health. Cleaning and filling teeth with cavities is part of a good preventive program. Restoring damaged teeth is also part of promoting dental health.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry is devoted to improving the appearance of teeth. Even fillings can now be used which closely match a person’s teeth. Cosmetic dentistry offers inlays and overlays which are porcelain or a composite that is made in a laboratory and are bonded into place by the dentist.

Root Canal Therapy

When the tooth’s pulp is damaged, endodontic care is necessary. The pulp is located in the center of the tooth and in canals in the roots. Root canal treatment is needed for cases of infection caused by an untreated cavity which permits bacteria to enter the root canal. Formally known as pulpectomy, Root Canal Therapy is an endodontic treatment performed by a dental professional that removes infection or inflammation from the pulp chamber inside the tooth.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown in the dental field refers to the restoration of teeth with the use of materials that are fabricated by indirect methods which are cemented in place. A crown is used to cap or sometimes completely cover a tooth. A badly damaged or decayed tooth can be restored by covering it with a crown or cap. A crown can also be used to hold a bridge in place or for cosmetic purposes. Crowns can be made of plastic, stainless steel or porcelain fused to stainless steel or can be all ceramic. If there is a need to replace one or more missing teeth, a bridge is a possibility. Bridges are held in place by natural teeth or even by implants. First a crown is made for each of the teeth on either side of the open space. Bridges are made of metal, porcelain or ceramic.

Dentures are made to replace teeth. They can be taken out for cleaning. They are now more natural looking than ever. Dentures are made from impressions taken of your mouth. A conventional full denture is made when all of a patient’s teeth have been removed and the mouth is completely healed. Healing may take several months. An immediate full denture can be used immediately, but must be relined as the jaw heals. Partial dentures are supported by a metal frame attached to the patient’s natural teeth.

It is recommended that all children have an orthodontic exam by the age of seven. Today, braces are less conspicuous and uncomfortable than they used to be. It is most effective if orthodontic treatment begin early before tooth development and jaw growth have not reached completion.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root replacement that is used in prosthetic denistry to support restorations (crowns) that resemble a tooth or group of teeth. At Lee Family Dentistry, we work with both osseointegrated implants and the fibrointegrated implants. Implants are a foundation for replacement teeth. They are metal posts that are placed into the jawbone and will hold replacement teeth. If the patient’s jaw has lost bone or if the jaw is too short, bone augmentation is a possibility. Bone can be taken from the patient’s own body. Synthetic materials may also be used.

Maxillary Sinus Lift

A sinus lift is a procedure of which the maxillary sinus membrane is elevated and subantral augmentation is performed with the bone graft placement. The end result is the improved bone height in the posterior maxilla which is more favorable for dental implant placements.

Bone Grafts Surgical Extraction of Wisdom Teeth

Remove the damaged tooth and preserve the bone in the area using a simple bone grafting procedure. In this procedure, demineralized, sterile human bone granules, (which look like coarse sand), are packed into the tooth socket immediately after tooth extraction.

Amazing services, amazing people, and amazing facilities. Things are run in an orderly fashion, and that really stands out. Everything is impeccably neat and clean as it needs to be in a place that considers itself an important guardian of health. Bravo on all those counts!

What has left me smiling and laughing without reserve is the new beauty that shines through my smile. They’ve done such an excellent job with me. Like I said, the treatment and customer service here is amazing. I could use another word but that’s the one that best fits. This is a gifted and talented dentist. If you live nearby, or even if you don’t, you should be calling here and then making the drive over for your appointment.
